Lydia is absolutely amazing!!
I give her a 5 star rating across the board in cooking, organization, professionalism and cleaning. She has done everything from cooking us the most beautiful home cooked meals, creating weekly dishes for my kids, Saturday night elaborate meals for our whole family, Thanksgiving dinners for 20, Christmas baking prepared and packed for us to take to our cottage and lots of incredible cooking lessons, like her famous Ricotta Gnocci and home made tomatoe sauce that has become a staple in our kitchen.
Her service doesn’t end at cooking, she grocery shops, tutor’s my kids in French, runs errand and always has my home looking perfect and organized!
Lydia has become our “go to” person for everything to make our life easy. Her seamless management skills mixed with her extraordinary level of professionalism and warmth has made her an asset we cannot live without!

It was in 2010. That was 14 years ago! I was the owner and the head chef of a gourmet and provençal bistro in Valbonne, in the south of France. Lydia came to my establishment because, at 40 years old, after a successful career in hospitality within a French chain, she was going back to school for one year at a culinary school and needed an apprenticeship between school and a restaurant: two days at school and three days at a restaurant.
Her project was to take over a hotel restaurant with her husband, who was a head chef, in order to assist him with preparations and gain a better understanding of the basics of French cuisine.
We spent a year together. Lydia was a learner. She learned a lot about the basics of our French cuisine, selecting quality ingredients, food hygiene and safety, and combining colors and flavors on the plate.
I had so much confidence in her that after a few months, I let her take charge during certain services.
She had a keen eye for detail, precision, a desire for well-executed work, and making the customer happy.
Beyond her qualities for this profession, which she already had from her work in the hospitality industry, what I will remember most about Lydia is her great perseverance, discipline, and a lot of courage! I learned a lot thanks to her as well. It was a truly wonderful year of collaboration and I can highly recommend Lydia!
